Description

Aronia x prunifolia 'Viking' is a chokeberry fruit bush, producing nutritious berries which are ready for picking from late summer to autumn. Chokeberries are named after their tart, sharp flavour—they can be a little bitter when eaten raw but are delicious when cooked into jams, preserves and other sweet treats. A great superfood packed full of vitamins and antioxidants; enough to rival blueberries. As well as its fruits, this shrub's leaves turn a vibrant red in the autumn, providing a jolt of colour at the end of the season.

'Viking' Chokeberry forms an upright habit and has an approx. height and spread of 2 x 2 metres.

AKA Chokeberry Viking

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
