Description

Hinnonmaki Green is a fantastic Gooseberry bush producing sweet and aromatic fruits which are ready for picking from July. This variety originates in Finland and is known for being exceptionally hardy—a great choice for Northern climates. Enjoy Hinnonmaki Green gooseberries fresh from the tree, cook into jams and puddings, or freeze them for a later date.

Hinnonmaki Green has an excellent resistance to mildew and diseases and is self-fertile so doesn't require a pollination partner. Ideal for smaller gardens, this Gooseberry bush will form a compact and neat habit, preferring a full sun to partial shade position.

AKA Ribes uva-crispa Hinnomaki Green, Gooseberry 'Hinnonmaki Gron'

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
