Description

Cercis chinensis 'Diane' is a small deciduous tree with a bushy habit, typically growing to an approximate height of 3 meters and a spread of 2 meters. It is an excellent choice for small gardens and can even be grown in containers. In spring, the tree's bare branches are adorned with beautiful small purple-pink flowers. Shortly after, heart-shaped leaves emerge, tinted red-purple as they unfurl, before turning yellow in autumn. 'Diane' thrives in well-drained soils and does best in positions of full sun to partial shade.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
