'Blanca' is a late season, relatively new variety of whitecurrant, admired for its heavy yield and cropping ability. White, pearl-like translucent fruits are delectably sweet, ideal for use in cooking or enjoyed straight from the bush.

Ideal for wildlife-friendly gardens, 'Blanca' has won the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its reliable performance. A full sun to partial shade position is preferred as well as a moist, well-draining soil.

AKA Blanka Whitecurrant, Ribes rubrum 'Blanca'

Planting Steps

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
