Description

Acer platanoides 'Norwegian Sunset' is a brilliant, hardy variety of Norway Maple tree with attractive, glossy foliage. Young leaves are tinged with purple which become greener in summer. In autumn, it lives up to its name, taking on shades of vibrant red and yellow reminiscent of a sunset.

Maple 'Norwegian Sunset' is happily planted in most soils, including clay, as well as most planting positions, including exposed and urban locations. It has an approx. height and spread of 8 x 6 metres in 20 years.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
