Description

Acer campestre 'Evenley Red' is a deciduous small tree with an upright, rounded form. Its dense habit makes it excellent for use as a hedging shrub or for creating shade. The maple-shaped leaves are a rich green in spring and summer, turning an intense, fiery red in autumn. This spectacular color brings vibrancy to your garden later in the year. Low-maintenance, hardy, and easy to grow, 'Evenley Red' has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Additionally, it has received recognition as a plant for pollinators, attracting bees and other insects, making it an ideal choice for a wildlife garden.

'Evenley Red' prefers full sun to partial shade, in an exposed position. It prefers moist, but well-drained soil. Ultimate height and spread in 20 years is approximately, 12 by 8 meters.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
