Description

Hydrangea paniculata 'Polar Bear' ® is a deciduous shrub with an upright habit, typically reaching up to 1.5m in height and spread. Its ovate green leaves turn vibrant shades of yellow in autumn, complementing the seasonal display. In summer, it produces densely packed, large conical flower heads that emerge from lime-green buds, creating a striking contrast against the foliage. As autumn approaches, the flowers transition to a soft pink, offering continued visual interest. 'Polar Bear' thrives in moist but well-drained soils and prefers a position in full sun to partial shade.

AKA: panicled hydrangea 'Polar Bear'
Planting Steps

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
