Description

Styrax japonica Snow Cone is a small deciduous tree which typically grows to an approximate height of 4m and spread of 2m. It is very uniform and symmetrical in its habit and has attractive bark pattern which appears smooth grey brown but matures to orange-brown. In summer, bell-shaped white flowers bloom in clusters along the underside of its branches. Its dark green foliage turns beautiful shades of yellow in autumn, providing seasonal interest to the garden. Snow Cone requires a well-draining site in full sun or semi-shade for best growth.

AKA: Styrax japonicus 'Jfs-D', Styrax japonicus 'Snow Cone'

Planting Steps

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
