Description
Platanus orientalis 'Minaret' is a large and beautiful tree that can reach a height of approximately 15 meters and a spread of 12 meters. It features attractive plane bark and bright green, deeply incised leaves. These leaves typically have 5-7 serrated lobes that turn yellow in autumn before falling. In May and June, the tree produces spherical yellow-green flowers, followed by small green fruits which emerge in autumn, roughly 2.5 cm in diameter, growing in clusters of 3 to 6. These fruits eventually turn brown and hang on the tree well into winter.
The Oriental Plane Tree makes an excellent addition to any large garden, thriving in both direct sunlight and partial shade. Due to its large size, it has good wind resistance and is hardy in winter, being frost-resistant.
AKA Oriental Plane Tree, Chinar Tree, Eastern Plane
