Description

Hamamelis x Intermedia 'Evi' is a deciduous, vase shaped shrub that is ideal for adding vibrancy and intense colour to the garden in the winter months. Flowering in February, it produces large and beautifully scented, deep yellow-orange flowers made up of narrow petals, that look striking on its bare stems. During the autumn, the foliage turns fiery red-orange, which adds to its ornamental value and year round interest.

Hamamelis x Intermedia 'Evi' is hardy and low maintenance and will flourish in a variety of conditions. It will grow best in full sun or partial shade within a sheltered environment, and prefers moist but well-drained soils. Its ultimate height and spread is approximately 3x3 meters in 20 years, making it ideal for smaller gardens.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
