Description

Vinca minor 'Aureovariegata', commonly known as lesser periwinkle 'Aureovariegata', is a low-growing, evergreen perennial ground cover. It typically reaches a height of about 10cm and can spread up to 1.5 metres. This variety is distinguished by its attractive variegated foliage, featuring small, glossy deep green leaves edged with creamy yellow margins. These striking leaves provide a beautiful contrast in garden settings. From spring to late summer, this periwinkle produces small, violet-blue flowers, adding a pop of colour to the landscape.

Lesser periwinkle 'Aureovariegata' is adaptable to most soil conditions, from well-drained to poorly drained, and thrives in full sun, partial shade, or full shade. Its versatile nature and low maintenance make it an excellent choice for various garden spaces, including borders, underplanting, or as a vibrant ground cover..

AKA: Vinca minor 'Variegata Aurea'

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
