Description

Spiraea nipponica 'Snowmound' is a medium-sized upright deciduous shrub, slightly spreading in shape with its arching branches. Typically this variety reaches an approximate height and spread of up to 2.5m. It features narrow, blue-green leaves throughout spring and summer but is bare in autumn and winter. In spring to early summer, this variety of shrub produces clusters of small, pure white flowers which contrast well with the foliage.

Tosa spiraea 'Snowmound' thrives in well-drained soils and prefers a position in full sun, although it can tolerate partial shade. This low-maintenance shrub is ideal for use in mixed borders, as a standalone specimen, or as a hedge. Its compact growth habit, coupled with the impressive floral display, makes it a versatile and attractive addition to any garden, offering seasonal beauty and structural interest.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
