Description

A striking blue Conifer, Chamaecyparis Lawsoniana Ellwoodii is also popular for its columnar shape. The foliage is grey-blue year round and looks at its most blue in the winter, making it perfect for winter interest. A relatively slow growing, small evergreen tree, Elwoodii will reach 4 x 1.5 meters in 20 years.

The perfect foil for other plants throughout the year, Lawson’s Cypress Elwoodii is a deservedly popular conifer with the RHS Award of Garden Merit. It will grow in most situations given moist but well-drained or well-drained soil out of bad exposure. It looks stunning planted in a grouping of 3 or planted in an avenue.

Planting Steps

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
