Description

Native Beech hedging has lush green, corrugated, elliptic leaves that turns bronze and yellow in the autumn. Fruit called beech mast can be produced, which are popular with a variety of wildlife, including deer and squirrels.

Fagus Sylvatica make a wonderful hedging plant as its dense, green foliage holds well and often the brown leaves after autumn colour will hang onto branches until new foliage emerges giving year round screening. This native tree will grow well in most conditions and does especially well in lime, alkaline soils. It will tolerate exposure but not wet or very cold sites. This tree is a grand choice for woodland or parkland planting.

Available as individual plants or cost saving bare root bundles.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
