Description

The only Dogwood native to the UK, Cornus sanguinea is a fantastic shrub admired for its bright red winter stems. In summer, small white flowers grow in clusters which are followed by shiny black berries. In autumn, foliage turns vibrant shades of red.

Commonly found in hedgerows, Common Dogwood makes an ideal hedging plant and will reach an approx. height and spread of 3 x 2.5 metres.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
