Description

Williams Bon Chretien pears are immensely popular for their sweet flavour and highly juicy flesh. These large dessert pears are encased in smooth pale green skin. Large crops are produced in September when they should be eaten fresh.

An old English variety from Berkshire, Pyrus communis 'Williams' Bon Chrétien' is ideal for less favourable positions and Northern areas. Prefers full sun but partial shade will suffice. Also known as The Williams Pear tree, it has pretty white flowers that require a pollinator in groups B, C or D.

Planting Steps

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
