Description

Euonymus europaeus 'Red Cascade', known as a Spindle tree, provides a colourful show throughout the year. Small, relatively insignificant yellow flowers lead on to bright pinky-red ornamental fruits that peel apart dramatically to reveal orange seeds inside. If this isn't enough, green leaves turn colourful shades of yellow and red in Autumn.

In 20 years, Euonymus europaeus 'Red Cascade' will have reached full maturity and grown to a bushy, rounded tree approximately 3 metres by 2.5 metres. 'Red Cascade' is not fussy, being able to thrive in full sun, partial shade, sheltered sites or exposed sites. It can establish in most soils with drainage and is chalk tolerant. This Euonymus is an improved form of our native Spindle Tree in the UK and well deserving of a place in any garden.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
