Description

Euonymus alatus 'Compactus' is a small, compact deciduous shrub that typically grows to a height of 1m and a spread of 1.5m at maturity. It features ovate, elliptic green leaves on branches with distinctive corky ridges, which mature to a vibrant rosy-red in autumn. In spring, small green flowers appear, followed by red-purple fruits with orange seeds that attract birds and other wildlife to your garden. This shrub thrives in well-drained soils and prefers full sun or partial shade.

AKA Winged Spindle

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
