Description

Growing to just 4 x 4 metres in 20 years, Amelanchier laevis 'Snowflakes' is popular for its large white, star shaped flowers which stand-out against the red-bronze new foliage in spring. Blackish fruits appear in summer and the slender, oval foliage turns to mid-green, before turning rich orange/red in the autumn.

Also known as a Smooth Servicerberry, 'Snowflakes' is a small ornamental tree that makes the ideal feature tree, even in small gardens. Amelanchier Snowflakes will grow in most soils and conditions, including damp soil and polluted areas.

AKA Amelanchier Snowflakes, Smooth Serviceberry Snowflakes, Juneberry Snowflakes, Snowy Mespilus Snowflakes

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
