Description

Pear 'Obelisk' is a compact and columnar variety. It produces medium-sized green pears with a subtle red flush, offering firm, crunchy flesh and a mild, delicate flavor. In the spring, the tree provides further interest with clusters of pretty white flowers which attract bees and other pollinators. Obelisk is self-fertile and thrives with minimal pruning making it a fantastic low-maintenance option. Cropping of the pears occurs early to mid-October, and the pears store well when kept in a fridge.

We offer Pear Obelisk in Bare Root, which means it is a tree that has been lifted out of the ground during its non-growing season and is supplied without a pot or soil.

Although part of Quince A, and semi-vigorous, this tree is naturally dwarf, making it perfect for smaller gardens and pot plating. It will thrive in a sunny, sheltered spot with moist but well-drained soils. It has a maximum height and spread of 1.5 x 2.5 meters.
