Description

Naturally dwarf and self-fertile, Athos Cherry trees are a fantastic variety for growing in a small garden or on a sunny patio. After the pretty spring flowers, they produce lots of wonderful dark red cherries that ripen in July. The cherries have a sweet and tart flavour which is particularly delicious when eaten fresh.

Originating from Canada, Cherry Athos is a new variety of hardy fruit tree. Being self fertile, you don't need another Cherry tree for pollination, which is particuarly advantageous in a small garden. Plant in a sunny position and it will reliably produce heavy crops of eating cherries.

AKA Prunus avium 'athos'

Planting Steps

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
