Description

Apple Chivers Delight is a sweet, honey flavoured eating apple. The flesh is crisp and juicy, with a hint of sharpness. The skin is yellow with pretty flushes of red. These apples store well (up to 3 months) and are also good for juicing.

Originating in Cambridgeshire in the 1920s, the parentage of this variety is a bit of a mystery. Requiring a pollination partner in group D, it is a late season apple with the delicious fruits ready for picking in October. Chivers Delight is suited to most areas and likes a sunny position.

Malus domestica 'Chivers Delight' apple tree originates from Cambridgeshire.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
