Description

The delightful pale pink blossom on Robijn Almond trees arrives a little later than other varieties, helping to protect it from frost. The flowers are followed by sweet tasting almonds developing inside velvety fruits. Expect to see the first nuts when the tree is around 3 years old. Almonds can be used in cooking or to make almond milk, oil, butter or flour.

Robijn is a good variety for the UK and has excellent leaf curl resistance. Expect a height and spread of 5x4 metres in 20 years. Plant this Almond tree in a sunny, sheltered position for good crops of almonds.

AKA Prunus × persicoides 'Robijn'

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
